can one use a bigger, perhaps faster, wall charger with a recent (2 years or so) vintage iPad 10"?

I think only the 10.5 had faster charging.

Yes, but it will only charge as fast as the iPad can handle. I.e. I had my iPhone plugged into a 100W USB-C charger last night, but it isn't going to charge at 100W, it's only going to use 20W.

The upside of using a higher capacity charger than stock, is that it will provide some greater charging speed (not Qi or 'fast' charging speeds' if the stock charger is marginal.

It's potentially easier on the charger, as well.

I had an old MB and its factory charge got hot under continued use and eventually died.

I got an 85W MagSafe unit to replace it, and it never felt even warm (unless the room was chilly) with the same use.

That's probably not an issue with an iPad, or most iPads.

But if you've got a bigger wall charger, it won't hurt.
