peas in pet food

I love the fact that even though most pets have no need for peas or carrots, pet food makers somehow manage to get them in whole in the pate spew.
I feel better already about my pets diet.

FWIW, our two pups (Golden Retriever and a Corgi) both do well on a pea-based food as opposed to a corn based food, which is most of the major brands.

I asked my vet about that one time and she told me that it does not really matter where protein comes from.

Dogs are omnivores.

It bugs me more when they put lots of veggies in cat food.

Meat and eggs mostly, with the daily cup of dog food. My dog won't touch peas or carrots or other veggies if they're not coated in butter or oil.

one of the other reasons why I've had to resort to making my own.
only Tiki and Ziwi, each at over $6/lb make acceptable food based on what I've read by some Uni Vets.
Takes a little time, but after so many pet food recalls over the last decade...

Generally agree, but the current dog eats raw broccoli; even broccoli stems.

My dog likes sardines. But might be something about packed in olive oil.

My elderly Pug loved mini carrots. Great snack for her. Current Pug won't touch 'em.

How do make sure they're getting enough taurine?
