Roughly a 60% increase in speed?!?! and some other big numbers

Will want to see some tests... might have to load it up on my wifes base mini to see how they run...

short PR: [blog.adobe.com]

Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Illustrator and InDesign will run natively on Apple Silicon devices. While users have been able to continue to use the tool on M1 Macs during this period, today’s development means a considerable boost in speed and performance. Overall, Illustrator users will see a 65 percent increase in performance on an M1 Mac, versus Intel builds — InDesign users will see similar gains, with a 59 percent improvement on overall performance on Apple Silicon.

Thank god. InDesign was taking up to 10 seconds to open a simple file on my new M1 Mac Mini (16GB Ram).

I find it odd that the word "dropped" gets used to mean either "released" or "discontinued", very opposite actions. Eg. Apple dropped the headphone jack.

Like how "cool" means *hot*?

I only see references to Illustrator and InDesign at that link - why the reference to LR (Lightroom) Classic in the thread title?

It is what it is.

Contranyms (or contronyms) - words that mean their opposites

sanction - to give permission and to not allow

cleave - to cut into two and to join together

etc.

One of my favorites:

Why do we drive on the parkway, and park on the driveway?

Wierd, saw the story here -- clearly states LR Classic in title... but I didn't read the entire PR.

Someone should tell Adobe!

Seriously, I want some of what those 9to5mac folks are smoking.
