Not a great price, but might be worthwhile for someone with a decent innertubes connection needing multiple laptops for kids/school.

$160 - HP 11.6 inch "Chromebook"/MediaTek MT8183/4GB Memory/32GB eMMC

There is at least one at my local BBY, so it seems there are a few available. It might run the ARM version of Windows but something this old will be pretty slow.

This month, a 17.3" screen Chromebook is being released. I understand prices will star ~ $370. Backlit keyboard will be an option. LOTS of ports. Adios macOS.

Yeah that's just a quad core Intel Atom-class CPU, not even a lower-end one derived from the Core i# line (which do exist and can be OK processors). And uses a camera card for storage, not even close to a real SATA SSD.

Hard pass, and I'm a cheap bastard.

Whoops! The base model for $380 only has a dual-core Atom. Hard to pass harder than a hard pass but I'm agonna pass this one even harder anyway.

Different animal but I've noticed Walmart sells a tablet for under $100. Amazing!

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.
I’ve added some recipes and spiritual thoughts as well.

i5 processors are an option (several other "upgrades" also available at additional cost). I did a quick Google search yesterday but didn't find much available. I'll give it another 10~14 days and check again.

REMEMBER, these Chromebooks are NOT designed to go "head to head" with premium Mac or Windows laptops (at corresponding premium prices). For "budget" laptops however the new Chromebook looks like it could be a REAL winner for users that want a LARGE screen entry level laptop.. I expect ANY 16" MacBook Pro would start in the $2000 range and, go quickly up from there. Then add the boxful of dongles the latest MBP's seem to need.
