That price on Necco's doesn't surprise me from Food Lion. The only things I buy there are the sale items. They seem to follow the model of having big sales on certain things and then nickel-and-dime people on everything else. It's the closest store to us but I drive right on by most of the time.

The strategy for FL is when they run one of their 'stupid sales'. Like
Kerrygold Butter 3/$7, Idaho Fries $2 bag, & OM Beef Hot Dogs 2/$4.49;

What kind of rimfire gear are you using, and where are you using it, that you can hit Necco's at 300 ft.? It's gotta be seriously wind protected to pull that off. My S&W Model 41 target pistol is all kinds of accurate w/ expensive target ammo, but our Ruger rimfire revolver can outshoot it with cheap .22LR ammo at pistol distaances. Plinking Necco's at 300 ft. out in the wild would seem to require a pretty spiffy setup..... unless you're shooting .17 WSM or .17 HMR w/ some impressive optics to find that Necco hiding out there.

Your standard .22LR plinker hitting a Necco at that range w/ any sort of breeze is more luck than skill; so c'mon, rat out your wafer buster(s)....
