iCloud Storage is full. Photos are no longer being backed up.

I am using 160.4 GB out of 200 GB.

I should have almost 40 GB available. Why do I get this message that iCloud is full and the prompt to upgrade?

Yeah. Same here. I really don't know what's happening there. I just "let it be."

I had the opposite problem. I reached the point where I received notification that I had used up my entire allotment of free space (2 GB) and new photos would not be backed up. I went through and deleted a bunch of older photos -- as I did, I kept receiving notifications that my 2 GB was full!

Turns out that I had (much) more than 2 GB stored in iPhoto -- as I deleted newer photos, it would "restore" older photos that had no longer visible under the 2GB limit.

I finally got the actual amount of photo storage used under 2 GB -- by the time I did, photos going back to 2003 had once again become available. I estimate I'd been storing closer to 10 GB to 15 GB on the account, although only the most recent 2 GB were visible.

It is what it is.

any large recent uploads that may not yet be reflected in your totals? Just a guess.

iPhones and iPads: yes
Macs: no, local backups.

Oh, maybe, I had a long video I took yesterday, I didn't realize that could be the issue. I will check tonight. Thanks

I recently switched to Amazon for photo backup -- unlimited amount and I got a $15 credit to my account. It uploads overnight.

Growing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

I think it is no longer unlimited, but I could be wrong.

Amazon Photos still unlimited, but videos and other files are capped at 5 (?) GB, at least under the base Prime version.

Thanks for the clarification. I should give it another look.
