I was going to start a thread about the 6 strawberry plants I have, those little rolls polly things tend to crawl on strawberries.

What can one put on Strawberries that is safe for humans, but keeps bugs away?

I used to do sci research on plants and my preferred anti-aphid of choice was manual labor. Use Scotch tape or similar to remove the buggers. Extra points if you can achieve a smooth monolayer of aphids on a single piece of tape. The fold it over and squish underfoot.

Do it. It feels goooood.

Rinse, repeat. It's Zen time, embrace it.

I use the garden safe insect soap, that can be sprayed up to a day before harvest, and washes off pretty easily. Inexpensive, too.

never heard of Trailer Park Boys.

If you have Netflix, the whole series plus the movies are available there. Those canadians are crazy hilarious. My sig is a quote from the series.

The aphids episode was excellent.

Mr. Lahey: A lot of people, don’t know how to drink. They drink against the grain of the liquor. And when you drink against the grain of the liquor? You lose.

Randy: What the @#$%& are you talking about?

I’ve read 3-10 tablespoons of liquid dish detergent diluted in 1 gallon of water and sprayed on the plants should keep the bugs away.

Ditto the ladybugs. I put them on our trees and they eat the damn aphids that crap all over our windshields. Praying Mantises also work well and are very cool to see hanging around your crib.
