Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts to miss band's upcoming tour

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts will likely to miss the band's upcoming "No Filter" tour through North America.
The news comes after Watts turned 80 in June and had undergone a medical procedure for an unknown condition. A spokesman for the stones issued a statement on Twitter stating that the drummer needs to rest and recover.
"Charlie has had a procedure which was completely successful, but his doctors this week concluded that he now needs proper rest and recuperation," the statement read. "With rehearsals starting in a couple of weeks it's very disappointing to say the least, but it's also fair to say no one saw this coming."

Watts has been with the Stones since 1963.

Drummer Steve Jordan, who has played with Keith Richards over the years, and was a member of the house bands for "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night with David Letterman," will take Watts' place on the road.

He's been practicably embalmed since the 70s, they could maybe prop him on a board behind the drums?

If Charlie can’t be there, then I’m not going.

especially replacing him with Steve Jordan.
Keith likes him, but he ain no Watts.
Hope Mr Watts recovers to raise his horses, collect his cars that he doesn't drive and .... uh .... there was something else.....

Mr. Watts kicked ass on the kit as recently as 2015. Watch live at the Fonda Theatre.

Ok, age is just a number, but 80? I just don't understand how that could be a thing. Personally, I'd rather watch a youtube of them in their prime, although I'm not really a fan.

This is likely the beginning of the end of the Rolling Stones.

It is what it is.

This is the first time it's been uttered when at least one member of the band is in his 80s.

It is what it is.

What a shame, he was so good on this 'playing at home' version of You can't always get what you want. [www.youtube.com]
