It's over, except for the videotape on NBC for closers.

How was your Olympic Experience?

I watched a bit here and there.

As always, the male gymnasts look like Greek Gods.

Feel free to call me a chauvinist pig, but I was happily surprised to se that female wrestlers looked quite feminine, not withstanding how easily any one of them could break me in half!

Mens and Women's Gymnastics and Track are always fun.

I find myself cheering during wrestling matches.

I just found out that water polo players are not allowed to stand at the bottom of the pool, so that makes that sport even tougher than I had previously known.

I don’t imagine they could stand very long on the bottom of a nine foot deep pool.

The Olympics have become way too commercialized and focus on the athletes has been lost. It just didn't interest me this time, and I doubt it will in the future.

I’m glad we had it at all. It’s been a tradition to watch as mush as we can in my family, starting with Nadia Comaneci in Montreal. Perfect 10. Display didn’t have 4 digits so they showed it as 1.00 instead.
At least that the story I know.

I watched more this year that I probably have for summer olympics in my entire life. Mrs Markintosh broke her ankle 4 weeks ago, so we're limited in what she can do. The intense smoke from fires has kept us most indoors lately.

We most enjoyed the women's waterpolo, track events, and swimming events. Sadly we missed the skateboarding and horse dancing events.

Did anyone watch Skateboarding?

I don't understand how the X Games have those guys going up huge curved walls and getting BIG AIR while the Olympic Skateboard competition looks like any of us on the forum trying to skateboard at the exit of a Mall (yes it was that bad)

Boring.... Why is this an Olympic sport?

This is the fail reel but there should NOT be that many spills is one week of competition. This is "street" skateboarding but I think 10 yr old kids in any suburban skate park could go toe to toe with the guys????

I mean imagine if the Olympic gymnast showed ever other contestant missing the mark?

Sad....

Watched a bit - was not enthused.

I was watching something (skateboarding) on CNBC, then when it got good they moved it over to NBC.

This was all tape delayed 12 hours and yet what I saw didn't seem to flow super well, but didn't seem natural (ie it was edited somewhat).

The games themselves were fine. The coverage was meh at best.

No, It didn’t interest me. Blurbs on regular news programs were more than enough.

I've been an Olympic junkie since Winter 1980. I watched a fair amount every evening, mostly swimming and track and field. I can't wait for the Winter Games in only 6 months.

No, can't stand the way NBC does coverage. Haven't watched in years due to this.

Between YouTube and OTA coverage, I feel like I saw plenty of engaging content. There were some great moments (the highjumpers sharing gold), great performances, inspirational stories (e.g. the Willhoubys). I think it's too bad there was so much bad press leading up to it. It kind of tainted the good that is still there.

Two people that popped out to me were Jade Carey and Kevin Durant. Jade is an incredibly strong person, psychologically and physically. Unreal, honestly. Everyone knows Durant is good, but I think he really carried that team in a way I didn't know he could. I thought he was good, but he's better than I thought.

These people are freaks of nature. Take how good you think they are, and multiply that by 100, and that still doesn't cover it. They deserve more than a moment, but that's what they get, so we should give it to them!

It's so inspiring watching everyone perform to the maximums of their abilities. Kevin Durant really put so much on his back. The last game was a thriller.

Watching the competition makes me want to be great at something. I don't have to be, but wanting to be is cool too!
