They have been doing that with a number of legacy apps over the last few OS versions. Sounds like it became DVD Player's turn. Apple may have figured most of their products no longer have an optical drive, so put it where it could be used if one was attached, but no longer needed to be in the regular Applications folder.

For those of you that change your own oil in your car

Mobil is offering a $15 rebate on a 5 quart jug of their synthetic oil. You need to purchase the oil by Oct. 7th and submit your rebate form by Oct. 21st. The rebate is in the form of a VISA prepaid card which expires after 3 months.

WALLY World supposedly has a 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil on sale for $20.96. With the rebate it would cost you $5.96.

AFAIK, the Netflix DVD selection is still dramatically better than their steaming plan.
