And before anyone asks, it is a bona fide Fedex email, and when I log into my Fedex account, I can see that it is a legitimate package.

The only thing I can think of that it could be, is that I ordered something from the Container Store, who apparently also ships Fedex ... yet I can see their package as a separate Fedex tracking number.

There can only be one other explanation I can think of -- I ordered something in my sleep...?

Maybe one of their giant catalogs?

One thing I can think is that maybe the Container Store's shipment got lost or something, and they decided to have it sent to me directly from Grainger's? (I can see that the Container Store's shipment is also scheduled to come tomorrow, but the last tracking of it is shown as being in Memphis today. And it was sent from Texas, so not sure why it went from Texas -> Memphis to come to NOLA?) The argument against that, though, is that I don't see that Grainger sells what I was buying from the Container Store-- which were some basic white stackable baskets.

The only other thing I can think is that maybe it's something I ordered from a common online seller (like Amazon), where somehow they're getting it shipped from Grainger?

UPDATE: I just got the package, and it was indeed Amazon (!) ... the octopus-like reach of Bezosworld is indeed long!

What's also weird is that the item I ordered off Amazon was not listed with Grainger's as a seller; it was a different third-party seller. So maybe they subcontracted it to Grainger's.

Ehhh, they shouldn't be sending out paper catalogs any more. Just a waste of paper, given how much stuff Grainger's sells.

Oh, and something else I just noticed too. Grainger's does sell the item I purchased (obviously), but their price is *higher* than Amazon's ... so I can't imagine Grainger is making any sort of profit by doing this, since I'd presume Amazon is taking a cut...

Nope. It had an estimated shipping date only (not unusual for third-party sellers), but I still find it odd that they'd list one third-party company as the seller and then have another actually ship. (So it also might complicate things if I had to do a return ... since the seller is not actually the seller ... though I doubt I'll have to do a return for this particular item.)
