#1: Should have went around to take that exit straight.
#2: The moment it was hung up someone should have been calling 911 and the railroad.
#3: Those poles can be easily knocked down for clearance.
#4: There should have been a railroad representative there to clear the intersection.

I'm amazed that the dispatcher / controler for that transport did NOT have (or provide) the SCHEDULE for train traffic at THAT crossing. Usually, OVERSIZED loads are STRICTLY controled, monitored and accompanied by a lead vehicle (which could be seen in the video) and a "tailgunner". If the schedulr WAS provided, that entire crew has some explaining to do.

That is Luling Texas, about 60 miles east of San Antonio. I've been on that intersection many times. There is a wonderful farmers market next door and great Barbecue just a block away!

#5: The driver, knowing the length of his load, should never have tried to turn, train or no train.

I hauled 120 foot long poles plus 15 feet for the tractor. I never had a problem because I planned ahead and knew what my load required for clearance. One time, and only one time, I had to deliver down a township road that required a 90° turn. The contractor knew this would be an issue and arranged to close the intersection. My truck was a self-unloader so I offloaded the poles, shortened my trailer, made the turn and reversed the process. I think it took about an hour and a half. The hardest part was avoiding existing distribution poles but the contractor provided spotters and it went smoothly.
