More MBP rumors

According to content creator Luke Miani, who has a limited track record when it comes to Apple rumors, the new 14-inch MacBook Pro could start at $1,799. And Apple could offer these four M1X chip options for the new Macs.

16GB RAM/16-core GPU
16GB RAM/32-core GPU
32GB RAM/16-core GPU
32GB RAM/32-core GPU

Miani believes that the 14-inch MacBook Pro could be priced at $1,799 and offer a 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. You could also expect a much better mini-LED display, a redesign that includes smaller bezels and a larger screen, more ports (such as HDMI and an SD card slot) and MagSafe charging.

Given the rumor mill success rate, I predict it could have a G5 chip, SCSI connections, usr replacable battery, Ram, and HD. My prediction will just as accurate as many others.

Yeah that poster was included in the packaging, wasn't it? It's funny, I remembered my 266GHz Grape iMac more than I did the next one. I then had a the next-gen in red with the DVD drive and FireWire. That was when they moved to fanless and having a silent computer was amazing all by itself.

To me, they were the first Macs that were reasonably powerful right out of the box.

Until the iMacs had firewire, they were internet appliances. I waited for FW, then we used those Macs for many years. I purchased a used one for my son in middle school, it ended up being used for years later for my in-laws running some favorite games that were never ported to Intel.

I bet the rumor about more ports is false. It will probably have more in terms of numbers, but there's no way Apple will want to make the machine thicker so it won't have room for anything but USB-C/TB.

This is the Apple that stopped putting an ethernet port in their laptops after the 2012 models because they were too thin to accommodate it.

Maybe part of it but it was kind of a chicken and egg thing. The 2013 and newer machines just weren't thick enough to physically accommodate a standard ethernet port.

The rumor is that the move back to magsafe, SD card and HDMI is to address core limitations of the M1 chip that are not fixed in the M1X.

I wouldn't be surprised if the extra ports were on the power-brick.
