For $149, you can find some much better "computer speakers". I've heard them. They sound good, for their size... HomePods are basically small computers with a speaker attached.
Or a soundbar/sub with an Aux In and Bluetooth for other devices?
EDIT: I have a 5.1 system in the living room, hooked to my RokuTV for Internet Audio, it has Bluetooth for AppleMusic from my phone.
I have a Soundbar hooked to the TV Bedroom and has BT for AppleMusic from my phone as well.
In my office I have a JBL Bluetooth Speaker (mono) which also sounds pretty dang good for its size. It a battery powered, and good for about 40 hours of playback at indoor volume, at least 6 hours at outdoor volume when I take it to the yard, last I tested. It charges in 8 hours on a low power iPhone USB charger, much faster on an iPad Charger.
