Old fiberglass poles (15+ yr) on big tent have begun to fail, totally snapping off in one part rendering an otherwise decent tent unusable.

I see replacement poles around but they are too short, I need (2) ~ 262" poles, and maybe another (2) ~ 191" pair while I am it seems like good preventative maintenance.

The longer poles are a big thicker too, I don't have a measurement but probably a few mm larger in diameter than the standard kind.

Any leads on where to get such things? This tent was originally from Costco.

Search for aluminum tent pole tubing. They can be bought in various diameters and lengths. The tubing can be cut to length and connectors used. You may wind up paying more for decent poles than the cost of a new tent.

Doubtful that it’s one piece. Probably 3 ft sections.

Correct. It's a dome type tent so the 262" is the length of the arc from one corner to the opposite corner. Two of these cross in the center which is where one section has snapped, there was also some cracking along the length of another section of the same pole.

The whole thing collapsed in a huge rain storm on the last trip and I suspect the poles suffered from too much strain. The fact that it was no longer effectively shedding water surely contributed to that. We've since spent some money on waterproofing the fly, and not to throw good money after bad, but we would hate to just toss it all in the dump at this point. I am aware that we are approaching the cost of a new tent, disposable consumerism at the worst.

This site sells blank fiberglass tubes for antennas, boat push poles, etc.

There’s a reason that better tents don’t use fiberglass poles.

You can buy “fish rods” for fishing cable. Oddly some years ago I picked up some long fiberglass sectional replacement poles that I ended up using on a similar dome tent.

Yep same collapsable pole design. Just need a lot of 'em I guess.
