Copy Photos FROM Mac to Android Phone

I cannot find a way to copy photos from Mac to Android phone. All searches show instructions from phone to Mac.

I've tried Android File Transfer and Dr. Fone. Again, phone to Mac.

Please help me.

I was trying to delete the photos from Google Photos because I'm running out of free Google space. As I was deleting photos by the month several times a pop-up box came up saying I was running out of internal memory and will delete photos on the phone. I wasn't paying close attention to the message and lost most of the photos/albums on my phone.

I still don't understand why deleting photos from Google Photos (cloud) would affect the photos on my SD card.

You could put the SD card into your Mac/SD Reader reader, copy the photos to the card, and then put the card in the phone?

I don't have an android, but that should work...

Yes...I didn't think about doing that. I'll give it a try.

Thanks.

Load images to your email then open the email on your phone then save the images. And when I shoot with the phone, I reverse the process.

AFT works well. Just have to drill down to the photos and drag and drop from Finder. In other words export from Photos to desktop, then d&d to AFT.
Or what DP said works fine too.

A couple of phones ago, an Android phone (I think it was a Samsung Note 8) came with an adapter dongle. I expect your carrier HAS such a dongle. Photo transfers should only take a few minutes so, you’re not really taking up much of their time.

I stumbled upon some Dr.Fone step-by-step instructions. I'll look into this.

History: I use Photo Transfer App to copy new photos on my phone to the Mac. It keeps the albums in sync in its folder. PTA says it will download to the phone but the instruction are not so easy to follow. These photos are not in Apple Photos (yet).

I shut off Google Photos. I don't understand how Google Photos can delete the photos on my SD card.

Is there an easy way to permanently wipe Google Photos clean with one fell swoop? I was deleting them manually a month at a time.

Thanks.

I've been using WiFi File Transfer Pro for years now to move files to/from my phone to other devices.

I just read a current review saying it no longer works with SD cards. Do you know if this is true?

I'm not understanding why Adobe File Transfer doesn't work. You have to download the app to your Mac, then connect the phone via USB and it "should" pop up the Android phone directory.

It seems to go one direction only. From phone to Mac. It has two buttons: Phone and Card.

How do I go the other direction? Mac to phone??

THANK YOU, THANK YOU SDGuy!

The best $1.40 I've spent yesterday.

It worked perfectly except it doesn't move the photos to the SD card. I just manually created a folder on the card and moved the photos over.

Install PhotoSync on Android, PhotoSync Companion on the Mac.

Place the two close together.

Works. I've tranferred both directions.

I scan into the Mac, PhotoSync to the Pixel 4a, move them into Photos if necessary, then get free Google Photos uploads.
