Printer install problem

Epson ET-3760 has been working flawlessly with my MBP running Catalina for over a year. We had some power outages yesterday, and I can no longer print. Restarted both printer and MBP - printer is connected to the wireless network. Uninstalled the printer, downloaded latest driver. Running install software - computer sees the printer on the network - when I get to the "add printer" screen, nothing comes up - I'm at a loss on how to make this work sad smiley

Uninstalled the printer, downloaded latest driver. Running install software

Start over:

Unplug the printer's data cable. Delete the printer then expunge all of the Epson software. Reset the Printing System:

[support.apple.com]

Do not download any software from Epson. Plug in the printer, go to System Preferences: Printers & Scanners then add a printer. Select your printer from the resulting list and add.

What AA said works until it doesn't.

My Canon laser was not in the apple list, then the canonusa did not have a driver for the M1.

I ended up downloading the driver from CanonUK. Works fine. Apparently, there is a patent issue in the USA

Let's take this step-by-step...

You open the Printers & Scanners settings in Sytem Preferences...

No printer shows up in the list of printers on the left side of that window?

So, click the plus-icon on the lower-left and you open the "Add" window...

With "Default" selected on the left side of the toolbar in that window, does the Epson appear in the list of available devices in the middle of that window?

Nothing shows up in the default list

This strongly suggests that the printer is NOT successfully joining your WiFi network.

The printer should be broadcasting mDNS/Bonjour packets and if those packets are being received then the printer will appear in that list even if the driver is not installed.

Go to Settings > Network Settings in the printer's on-screen controls and print a network connection report.

If the connection report shows no errors then compare the printer's IPv4 network address to the network address of your computer. They should appear identical up to -- but not including -- the last set of digits.

Note that this printer can only connect to a 2.4GHz WiFi network. If your router broadcasts with the same network name for both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands then this may cause the printer to drop the connection. You may need to break them up with separate network names or at least temporarily disable the 5GHz radio in your router to get the printer online via WiFi.

Well, I fixed it. Checked the IP addresss, and it was just one off on the last digit as required. Connected with USB cable, and the printer showed up in "add printer" - the software installed. I did end up with 3 of the same printer in the list and had to test each to see which was the correct one - but that done, it prints fine on the network - thanks to all who offered support!
