Any Theragun users?

I have muscle tightness in my calves and thighs which I’ve been trying to improve with stretching. Also suffer with back stiffness. People have suggested that I get a Theragun to add to my regiment to help. Curious if anyone here uses one and has any input regarding the effectiveness.

We ordered this massager and we're quite happy with it - [www.amazon.com]

IMO there's no reason to pay inflated prices for the name.

Working with a functional strength trainer (very similar to PT) would probably get you straightened out pretty quickly but it gets expensive.

We picked one up at Amazon for about 99 bucks after a personal trainer friend offered to sell me nearly the same thing for $400. It's very handy for knots and tension.

What those guys said. The Theragun is a converted saber saw with a ridiculous price tag. The other chinese massage guns are quieter and arguably better than the Theragun and come in basically two flavors:

This one:

and this one:

There are a zillion chinese brands that sell these exact same two devices at a wide range of prices. They come in a wide variety of colors and with different decals but are otherwise exactly the same. If you spend more than about $120 on one then you are a fool. We bought a version of the first one and are very happy with it for soothing my aching muscles after a hard day of skiing.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I had a Physical therapist last year who enjoyed beating me up with one.

It felt great, afterwards!

My guy had the dual handle industrial model, with a cloth covered business end that seemed to contain two or more "beating balls."

I bought this one:

It was on a daily deal Amazon sale. I had seen the Theragun used during the Olympics and I was feeling olympian so I bought it. It works fine.

Huge fan. Bought the Hypervolt years ago, and my wife and I work on each other 3 or 4 evenings a week, for 20-30 minutes. It's really a phenomenal tool for loosening up muscle patterns. We use it on the feet, upper and lower back, calves.

Laugh all you want (we do), but it's actually a great bonding experience. We often talk about our day and whatever's on our mind while we're working on each other.

Two thumbs up. Get one. And as others have noted, no need to get the expensive versions. It's become a commodity item, so the sub $150 ones will probably work just as well as the Hypervolt. And the battery lasts forever.

And this made me laugh out loud smiling smiley
