What's a song you thought absolutely stunk but now you love it?

Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody. Thought it was utter nonsense. Still doesn't make so much sense but it's fun to sing.

I remember when that song first came out - it was so different than anything this 10 year old had ever heard.

It is what it is.

There are a handful of songs I heard in my younger years, pre-teen and early teen, that I didn't like; would change the radio station as soon as they started. I'll hear them now on the Big R 70s feed or something like that; it's a different story. I might identify better, or appreciate the music more.

Some songs give me pause now because I never really listened to them, and certain lines stop me in my tracks. e.g., "Ode to Billy Joe"

That nice young preacher, Brother Taylor, dropped by today
Said he'd be pleased to have dinner on Sunday, oh, by the way
He said he saw a girl that looked a lot like you up on Choctaw Ridge
And she and Billy Joe was throwing somethin' off the Tallahatchie Bridge

Ambiguous though it is, that last line stops me in my tracks when I hear it.

"At Seventeen" is another one; I remember watching Janis Ian sing the song on the premier episode of "NBC's Saturday Night" (which is what it was first named). I just wanted the song to end and them to get back to the skits. Now, as a far older man, the song resonates through me. A powerful anthem to those years of your life (regardless of gender).

I could go on but those were the first two that came to mind; actually woke to hearing Seventeen in my mind today. Got a sad anniversary coming up so a lot of nostalgia is swirling around.

Honestly couldn't come up with any that went in that direction; bad to good. Many that went from OK to meh.

Some I like that I "shouldn't".
