I thought this Two-Face was pretty good!

(Also - is that a riddle in your pants, or are you just glad to be there?)

Sorry - couldn’t resist!

Cosplay looks like hellacious fun.

Granted a couple of decades of youth back, and a decent stipend of time and hobby money, I’d love to take a stab at it.

If by chance anyone out there is inspired by these photos to try their hand, even just for Halloween, Bill Duran has for years done excellent instructional videos on cosplay prop building. There are playlists built for begginer, advanced and expert users.

Their web site, Punished Props is yet another cornucopia of free blueprint files, informational ebooks and other information.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Those are great. We used to go to a lot of WorldCons in the 80s and 90s and it was just called the stage masquerade back then. I did just read that the word cosplay was probably first used at the 1984 WorldCon in LA which we were at but never heard that word. Fun times.

You'd think Steampunk Batman could have worked in a better mask.

I think about the only cosplay character I could do would be the Red Guardian (Old and fat version)

I dunno... I was just about to comment that the detail on his outfit is really quite astonishing... the gears and magnifying eyepiece goggles are pretty darned cool...

Thats kinda my point. Everything else is astounding. The fact that you have to wear a mask to things like this is annoying. But if you're doing cosplay, it would seem like a good idea to build in the mask. To make it part of the aesthetic.

Oh, I didn't think you were referring to his mask in the sense of masking. I'm not sure how you'd work it into the steampunk aesthetic, with it still performing its desired function and still clearly being a mask of the kind required to attend the event. The others aren't all masked in their photos, so I wonder what's under Batman's. He could have used a Bane-style mask, but that would probably have looked odd with the rest of the costume.
