I think there may be a few here who this may affect.... angel smiley

WASHINGTON — The Social Security Administration announced Wednesday that recipients will receive a nearly 6 percent increase in benefits next year.

The boost in benefits, which will affect nearly 70 million people, is being fueled by a spike in inflation caused by supply chain bottlenecks, worker shortages and other economic disruptions from the Covid pandemic.

The larger checks will begin to arrive for most recipients in January.

Part B would go up $10 a month for 2022, driving the Part B premium to around $158.50 a month. For 2021, the Part B premium is $148.50 a month.

According to USA Today ‘For the average retiree who got a monthly check of $1,565 this year, the bump means an additional $92 a month in 2022, boosting the typical payment to $1,657.’

WooHoo.
I am set to start taking my SSI in January.
I am starting a little before my “full retirement date” so that I can have my Medicare, which I will become eligible for in January, deducted from the SSI instead of having to pay out of pocket.

Remember when Billionaire Club members use to make that argument? Seems they found a way around it that's not open to us.

Of course, it’s a COLA, that’s exactly how it is supposed to work.
