For East Coasters who didn't hear: Kobe gets 81 points

This is an amazing feat but he is going nuts this year. Only Wilt got more and he was in a league of his own when he played.

Standings wise the Lakers are two games behing Shaq and Dwayne Wade. They are on a roll now too. Phil Jackson must really be the genius he thinks he is. Heat are not as good as I thought.

That's certainly quite a jump since the open. I looked up KOBE but I wasn't able to figure out what it was. Which exchange is it on?

And the more important stat of that box score: 2 assists. IF the Lakers make the Playoffs, aka the time when NBA players actually put forward a solid effort for 48 minutes on both sides of the ball, he will be shut down. The Lakers should be spending this time developing a viable second scoring option. What happens if Kobe gets injured? I'm sorry. I hate the Lakers, but as I get older (I know, still young relatively speaking) I realize how much of a joke professional basketball is outside of the fantasy sports realm.

Raptors are 5-5 for their last ten games and playing well. As per two assists, why pass when you are on fire and the best bet to score?

The Lakers have lost 11 games this season in which Kobe as scored 30 or more. A one man show can't get it done every night.

I'm sorry, real basketball ended in the 90s.

Real basketball stops after college anyway.

Have to agree that the NBA is pretty boring in general, though I think teams like the Pistons are a direct and effective antidote to the ugly, one-on-one style of basketball embodied by Kobe and the Lakers.

College hoops is much better, even if so much of the best talent went straight from high school to the NBA over the past 10 years. Now with the age limits, I guess a lot of that talent will go to school for one year and leave for the NBA before reaching their sophomore years -- hope Ohio State enjoys Greg Oden's brief tenure before he's the #1 pick.

Kobe only had like 25-26 pts. at the half. His teammates were not scoring, and playing horrible. He took it upon himself, period. He shot a good percentage too. None of his teammates even acted like they wanted to play, nor shoot the ball.

An amazing feat for today, even with the 3-point line in place. Wilt's 100 was unbelievable...but considering his size, compared to virtually nobody else that could match him in size and talent...it was a piece of cake to what a player, such as Kobe, today has to do to achieve such a statistic.

I'll give him props.

Yah, I've been entirely too cynical today. I'll dish out some props for that performance. Sorry for the animated rebuttle Spearmint smiling smiley Also, judging by your SIG, you're a left field bleacher bum? I sat there for a Houston game this past summer. Seems to be the outfield of choice ever since Sammy has departed.
