FYI, if you need largish pieces of cardboard, go to a warehouse store

The cardboard that holds the silo cups,’paper plates, and other items can be roughly 3-4 feet in width. Costco has a bunch of these for free. It is quite useful for my upcoming Halloween project.

It's also good as an alternative to Landscape Fabric under bark mulch. I've gotten it from furniture stores in the past.

Really? I have always thought it goes straight into the compactor. Did you have to ask for it from the back room or similar?

I grabbed some while there were still items stocked on it. I set aside the items on top of the product on the next pallet. No one cared that I had it, not the cashier, and front end people, receipt checker. Normally employees just grab it and take it to the cardboard compactor in the back. I am told every Costco has one.

Just go to a place that is having a sale on TV - there is always someone out front trying to stuff an 80" TV into their Prius. The first thing they do is remove the box. By the end of the day, there is cardboard everywhere.

And for smaller boxes, go to a liquor store.

I made a GIANT cardboard PacMan costume for Baby Buzz many, many years ago, and scored super-big sized cardboard from a mattress store...

hal's idea is on point for this decade.... the PacMan costume predated HDTV.
