USPS is killing me
Posted by: rgG
Date: October 25, 2021 02:22PM
I get the USPS informed delivery email each day.
Saturday a week ago the mail shown in the email was not delivered.
It had important stuff, of course.
I went to the PO and they said to wait till this Saturday to see if it shows up.
Nope, and not today, either.
I decide to use the "report missing mail" link from the email.
The email says to wait a week to report missing mail.
I hit the link today and it says the link has expired. It is only good for seven days.

I try to not get stuff sent in the mail, but certain things like membership cards, have to come that way and that's what it was, along with some other stuff.

I swear I complained about that very thing not long ago.

Can't find the post.

Did find this one:

Yeah, this sounds all too familiar. Don't hold your breath.

FWIW, I did get an update in July (two months later).

Thank you for using USPS.com.

The Post Master General is determined to destroy the USPS.

They removed the drive by drop-off boxes at our PO and
put them on the sidewalk where you have to get out of
your vehicle to drop off small items and letters. After
30 years their reasoning was the boxes were suddenly
insecure, hogwash!

Without booting it to the other side, this was the plan. Dismantle and destabilize. I'll stop there.

He needs to go.

Oddly enough, ever since the OIG & Postal Inspectors started digging into
our region's dismal service it's become markedly better. A former
business acquaintance of mine in MD has said the same. Their Regional
Managers & PMG were all replaced!

sort packages and hiring 40,000 seasonal workers...

Yep.
It has been getting worse and worse for us.
I called the people who sent me my ID card, and they are supposedly sending another one.
Maybe the USPS will deliver this one, but not holding my breath.

Been there...I give it 5 delivery days from receipt of the email (including the email day) and then report it. In my experience, if it hasn't arrived in 3 delivery days, it's lost.

I always use USPS for overnight mail.

Because they often mess up and take an extra day, so I get my "overnight" mail delivered free!

I was going to post something similar about the joy being taken out of the USPS, but don't want to get rg's post booted.

I will say my USPS service in my area has still been very good, with only an occasional, small delay in service.

I've yet to try Informed Delivery, but do use Street Addressing for FedEx and UPS deliveries to my POB when a vendor doesn't use USPS.

This usually adds one day to the delivery time.

A package will be shown as Delivered in my Deliveries app, which means USP or FedEx has delivered it to my POB, always after the daily sorting is done.

The next day a yellow notice will be in the Box.

Local First Class Mail is still overnight, and from the East Coast is three to four days, pretty darn good in this er- climate, as is Priority at two to three days.

There was an announcement to lower the delivery standards, so I expect the above to take longer at some point, and don't know if or when it will get better.

It's possible it may not happen in my lifetime.

Touche'. However, it's not the doctors, it's the front office and admin staff that need to see that.
