samwich saving

bought a huge sammy today at one of my fave Italian sammy shops.
It could easily feed a family of for for $20.
I know, seems like a lot of bread for a sammy, but that just it. Certainly a nice piece of ciabatta, but plenty of prosciutto, smoked fresh mozz, arugala, and sun dried tomatos.
In any case, I have half left over.
Fridge the whole thing or pull the guts and fridge those and countertop the bread to be assembled for lunch tmrw?

Depends on how much wet and/or gooey stuff is involved w/ the sammy's bread.....

w/ apologies to Newt in advance for using "Depends", and "wet and gooey", in the same sentence.

I would split the guts and bread, freeze the bread, dispose the leafy veg, refrigerator the guts, then toast the bread tomorrow and reassemble with fresh greens. Otherwise you'll have a nasty semirotten gooey mess.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Take the wet parts away from the bread.

Tomorrow, toast the bread in an oven, then add the meats.

With the exception of greens, I'd leave it intact. The sog is part of the leftover charm. You could heat up for a different take.

I took the snadwij apart, broiled the bread cut side up for a few minutes.
Reassembled and voila!
Normally I wouldn't drink before 5p. But I made an exception.
Delicious. rolly won't need dinner ... again.
