We tried completely quitting those apps plus others that might play video. Still the same result on both iPhone and iPad. It's baffling. This just started yesterday.
I had her delete the YouTube app and reinstall it from the App Store. I didn't feel too hopeful, but figured it was worth a shot. It still plays videos without audio. Seems like it has to be some global setting, but how to find it?
The number of settings you have to plow through in iOS is just painful. It doesn't help that she has so many apps on her phone and iPad. Something may have hijacked the audio aspect of any video she plays, but figuring out what is going to be unpleasant, to say the least.
Assuming we can't find the problem, is it worth a trip to the Apple store? I would have to take the iPad there, as she has mobility problems. Would this be a paid genius visit?
