What's in your Wallet?

A feature of iOS 15.1 + watchOS 8.1 allows one to add a compatible, verifiable COVID-19 card to Apple Wallet.

A plus not mentioned in very many places is that it also shows up in Wallet on an Apple Watch.

I don't know if there are any limitations or requirements for Watch hardware, other than supporting 8.1.

This is very handy as the QR code takes up the Watch's screen and one's personal info isn't displayed in text for anyone else to see.

It's not a big thing, but I like it.

There was was nothing to do after putting it in the 'Phone's Wallet but wait.

Eventually, it showed up in my Watch's Wallet.

Very nice. Let us know when it shows up in your passport.

Huh. So... What are the options if I have a paper card with my vaccination dates, but no QR code? Take a pic? Store it somewhere?

Well, it took a bit of doing with Kaiser but I finally have it in my wallet.

Kaiser folks, don't use the phone app. Log in online, bring up your medical records info on the Covid vaccine and point your camera at the QR Code. It will recognize it as something that needs to go to Health. Tap it and it will ask if it's okay to add to Health and Wallet. Done.

Somebody posted a link awhile back that took me to [myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov], and that's were I got my QR download.

As iOS didn't support it in Wallet at the time, I took a pick and just kept it in Files.

I went back to [myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov] and it was just a couple-three or so clicks an it was in.

With no other action, it showed up in my Watch's Wallet about 30-45min later.

If that doesn't work for anyone else, maybe restart the 'Phone and Watch?

If you got your shot at Walmart - you need to have/create a Walmart account, then approve the walmart pharmacy to it, fill in some identification verification info, and then you can access the QR code. I did it on my Mac, then just scanned the code with my phone.

Open the Health app. There should be a link there to add it to your Wallet.

My stupidity.. I was on 15.0.1, I misread it as 15.1

Folks in NYC have a couple of options: NYC COVID Safe and NYS Wallet. I have them both, as well as the COVID Alert app.
