When you're standing in an epic line at the Grocerteria

Minding my own business, waiting my turn and they got 99 cents slices of cake in my pathway. I resisted the temptation. That Caramel cake looked extra good. The people in the store could probably see the devil and the angel on my shoulders.

I sat in our foyer giving out Reese’s Peanut butter Cups for two hours to about a hundred kids last eve. I gave into temptation several times.

It's your duty to test out the candy that you give out to stranger kids. For their protection.

It's for the children.

I resisted the temptation.

I seldom can.

I was wandering around Safeway, really there to pick up a package from the AMZ locker, when I saw Marie Calendar 9" pies (?) on sale for $5 ea., half-priceish.

No apple, so I had to make do with two peach and two banana creme.

Peach pie a la mode, isn't nearly as good as apple a la mode, but warm peach pie with ice cold milk (whole milk, natch) is a slice of Heaven on Earth.

The banana creme was delicious as well, but home made with sliced bananas is the best.

And again, a glass of cold milk to make it a nutritious as well as delicious nosh.

You do what you must ; you do what you can. The struggle is real!

That looked like my Kroger on Saturday afternoon. I knew I picked a bad time after I got there, but I had already walked over, so I stood in that extra long self check lane.
I think people were buying stuff for watch parties on Saturday, since there was the GA/FL game and the World Series, but I didn’t think about that, before I left the house. RollingEyesSmiley5

Meh.

Now, if that box of glazed donuts (by the woman’s elbow) was 99 cents, I wouldn’t have just passed by…

Looks like an empty box in front of those donuts.

I am totally puzzled by the fact that they have an overhead aisle sign that says "pork and beans". How is that even a category?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

How could it not be?

Especially in a V63 thread?

Sorry, but that long line horrifies me! smiley-shocked003

It's been nearly 2 years since I've stepped into any kind of store. I order groceries on the store's website, and choose a day and time to pick up. I stay in my vehicle and let the store employee load my truck up.

I'm guessing it takes less time for me using that method than all the folks standing in line in the pic.

You know I've tried it both ways, and if I'm not hungry when I shop I find that there just isn't enough food and I have to get more sooner than I would have had I shopped while hungry in the first place.

It's usually not that long fortunately.

I can't stop staring at the huge zit on the back of the guy's bald head. I would've lost my cravings and passed the display of cheap cakes without incident.
