cleaning the mop head

have a OCedar spray mop with a microfiber pad.
Normally this would go in a rag wash.
But haven't been using rags much lately.
With socks or gross?
Seems insane to run the machines for just a mop head.
Or just in the sink for a long hot soak?

bucket, kind of what I was thinking.
towels seems grosser than socks, unless we hot water wash that load.

Soak in a bucket, sink or tub. Then wash in the washing machine. It’s not insane.

One could also use the smallest setting for a load like this, but for my part it would go in with a bunch of rags after cleaning day.

Ive never understood the penchant for washing towels in hot water for extra cleaning.

I mean they are drying off your *clean* body, right? its just clean water? Not sure why the extra is necessary...

actually, all loads are normally warm/cold or cold/cold.
Just the rags get hot. But ain't been using much of them as I've fixed (I hope) the leaks.

It's a Kenmore/Whirlpool HE. No load sizing, just load time.

It was bought originally for "equine" laundry. Fortunately, that no longer happens here.

Hot water from a home faucet is nowhere hot enough to make a difference in deep cleaning. If you want it hot, then boil water in a larger pot, add detergent and the mop. Boil for 5-10 minutes, then wash as normal.

I'd just toss it in with her sock load.

Microfiber should be washed on the hot water setting. This gets the dirt out. It should be dried on the cold setting to prevent damage to the fibers. Detailers use microfiber towels and this is the recommended procedure for cleaning them.

A bit of bleach goes a long ways towards disinfecting.
