Alas, I really wanted to like them.

Primarily, they began to hurt my ears after an hour or two, and the next day the discomfort began even sooner. Bummer. But there were other issues as well.

I have all my music stored as lossless. My best cans are the relatively modest Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pros 250 ohm. OK, admittedly not a straight up comparison, but the 990's are cheaper and sound a whole lot better. Yes, I acknowledge that what they're plugged into makes a big difference. And they're tethered to the sound source. But, the Beats were harsh in comparison and lacking in soundstage. BT codec has a ways to go with regard to lossless.

The Beats were quite nice for enhancing a movie watching experience and for that alone I might have kept them except for the discomfort after wearing them for an hour or two.

So I'm giving up in BT buds for now until they develop a decent BT codec (which is in the works apparently) and they allow for the eventual battery replacement.

For comparison, what other BT buds have you tried?

No others. I wanted to stay in the Mac ecosystem. The other Mac buds have the same chip so it seems to boil down to fit.

This was exactly my problem with the AirPods Pro, and to a lesser degree my Powerbeats Pro.

I tried some cheap memory foam tips and they didn't help the Powebeats.

The APP went back but I kept the Powerbeats because they didn't hurt as bad as quickly, unless I used them two days in a row.

The Beats Flex actually fit pretty well and don't hurt for quite awhile.

The 'memory' foam tips I used were sold by Comply, and I don't recommend them.

So for now I'll use my v.2 AirPods and for outdoors, the Flex.

I want to try the v.3 AirPods to see if they feel as good as the v.2s.

Otherwise, I'm not going to get pricey BT 'buds.

I do want a pair of magna-planar 'cans though.

That may be a much more rewarding purchase than pricey 'buds.

I love my AirPods Pro, they fit my ears perfectly and sound quite nice.

The regular AirPods, EarPods, Beats Powerbeats all sounded tinny, no bass, like an old crystal phone. Once I got the Comply foam tips for the PowerBeats and EarHooks for the EarPod/AirPod, then I could listen do decent sounding music.
