I found and use the setting, 'Silent unknown callers'
Works well, if you are not in my contact list, voicemail option only.

There's an app named Wide Protect that allows you to block any number with the same area code and prefix. I've had it on my iPhones for several years, I bought after I got 17 calls just like your calls, it worked, calls stopped. Good thing I don't know anybody with that area code and prefix.

I tried (and liked) Wide Protect shortly after it came out. It did just what I was hoping to do since many of my spoofed calls were the same area code and exchange as mine. Unfortunately, so is my wife's number. I was unable to add it to any kind of "safe" list, so that was that.
I'll be interested to hear whether than has been squared away. Good luck. It's a great idea.

I had that set previously but I wound up missing an important call I needed to receive from the gas company so I removed it. Sometimes you need to receive a call from a number not in your contacts that would be considered an unknown caller.

JoeM,
I use Silence Unknown Callers all of the time. I do turn it off when I am expecting as call from a party not in my Contacts. That period lasts for a day or two at the most, and I don't bother blocking the spammers during that time. When the call is received, I turn SUC back on immediately. The spammers normally give up after a month, but there are always new nasties to take their place.

I have done that also. When I do allow the calls through, that's when IU have fun and try to get the spammers to swear at me.I know it doesn't do any good, but it is fun and makes me happy.

Hmmm... seeing this WideProtect app, it's tempting, but... do you all feel comfortable with your phone call data going to a country that's apparently counting currency in rupees?
