Tight scripts so far, snappy costumes and art direction and John Cho...

Should get nominated for a couple of Emmys.

Haven't seen it yet, and planned to binge this weekend, but I wasn't hopeful. Reviews trashed it pretty thoroughly.

Like, the best they could come up with was "The actors seem to be having fun and the music is good..."

The critics are wrong - they did this with their tongue in their cheek and Quentin Tarantino as inspiration. It's a fun romp...better than Squid Games IMHO. I only lasted two episodes of that at the dentist.

FWIW, the original anime series (1998) is also available on Netflix.

Yoko Kanno, incredibly talented woman. Her big band charts are unbelievable. Some great musicians involved.

My wife and I have enjoyed it so far. I equate Cowboy Bebop with “Fifth Element” as the critics panned that movie on release but the tongue in cheek comedy, a solid cast, good editing, effects and solid cast gave it staying power and now rates in the top 10 of decent Sci-fi movies

I've liked the first half that I watched so far. I can see some of the things the perfectionists are complaining about, but they are looking for it to be more like the anime. It is pretty good on its own merits and a much better live action adaptation of an anime than many I have seen.

Seen the first 5 episodes now.

It's good. Not great but more or less solidly good, and worth watching. Not going to go down in history as one of those shows that gets dug out every year and rewatched.

The actors all seem ever so slightly out of their element and out of sync with what they're performing for the first 4 episodes, finally seem to be into it by #5. (Makes me wonder where they resumed after the year-long break in production.)

Easy to see the inspirations when they depart from the source material.

Not as good as the anime, but these live-adaptations never are.

And yeah, the soundtrack is awesome.
