pecan pie w/eggs.
I took it out of the oven at 11p.
Left it on the counter for 9 hrs. House is 60º.
FDA says uh uh after 2.

In the fridge now.

Experienced answers.
Do I toss it?

Nope, it was well-baked and none of the ingredients alone need refrigeration. But from now on put it in the fridge.

I would eat it.

Me too. I doubt bad bacteria would grow in 9 h on pecans or in the high-sugar content of the goo.

Mold, eventually. But not in 9 h.

Exactly. Cooked, so unlikely to have bacteria growing, and even mold is unlikely on something which has just nuts (mostly fat) and a lot of sugar.

That's how you buy them at the store! (well, probably a bunch of chemical preservatives thrown in.)

It's totally bad, full botulism load. Please DM me for my address of where to ship it so I can test it to be sure. I'll report back in a week with empty tin pics.

Pecan pies are pretty durable in that respect, and sit for days unrefrigerated in the stores with no ill effects on the consumers. It should be fine.

we survived. Melissa pie was excellent!
I doctored it a bit. Lil shake of cinnamon and 2c pecans instead of 1 1/2.

Yeah. I was going to bring up the stacks of them at Costco.
