Can I use my 2015 iMac's display with an M1 mini?

The iMac is fine, but I'm wondering if I could use it with an M1 mini, not yet having a display worthy of the M1.

I don't use the 2015 much but hooking it up an M1 might be pretty decent.

Sorry. Nope. The cut-off is 2014. Nothing later.

...You could fake it by opening a screensharing window to full-screen on the iMac. But there'd be lag.

I have a 2010 that I wanted (and could) use for an iMac monitor, but the thing uses 10x the electricity of a "normal" led screen nowadays that I couldn't justify it. but, damn, it's so much better than most non-Apple monitors.

Yeah, I was bummed to learn I wouldn't be able to use my Late 2015 iMac as a display for my M1 mini.

It is what it is.
