When I log back in to my iPad I sometimes see a news story in the News widget that I’d like to read but before I can open it the widget updates the story and the one that was there disappears. I try searching through the News app but the story I was interested in is never there. Anyone know how to find these older stories that vanish?

I can’t because you don’t see the full headline. For instance today I opened my iPad and for a few milliseconds I saw “Cuba…” and then it was gone.I’m just surprised that the story they feature isn’t in the aggregated list of stories once you open the News app.

Ok, I agree with that, the notification needs to stay longer. I have it appear on my lock screen which is persistent but when unlocked the drop down is too quick to dismiss itself.

Scrolling down takes you to the older pieces, doesn’t it?
I have taken a step back on news for a while now…

Yes it does but the past headline story is never there. I would have thought it would be down the list somewhere.

I use Microsoft news and smartnews on my iPhone. Their widgets are pretty good, and you aren’t constantly running into a pay wall.

Thanks I’ll take a look. My Reuters widget stopped working on my iPad so I’m in need of a new feed.

From the widget, got it…
I just went to the widget, and it updated the stories after a second or two.
So I went to the news app, to the search field (top left), clicked the actual search field on the right(!!).
One there I typed “lawrence reemerge” and the search produced the “Why Jennifer Lawrence decided to reemerge”, same story from the widget.
Hope it helps!
