Appears that Tile's new owner is selling all your precise location data.

Glad I don't have any of their devices.

It's possible you don't know you have one, and you are being stalked or your property being cased for a burglary. People are finding them in their purses/bags, or hidden on their vehicle. More women than men though.

IT's not Tile that' the problem, It's their damn app. We used it to track kids in school for safety reasons. Then abandoned it when Apple's Find my Friends happened.

Life360 is SCUM.

why would you need to track your kids? my parents let us grow up free range. we survived and thrived just fine.

Buddy of mine had a deal with his daughter... "You'll have it on your phone, and I won't use it except for genuine emergencies, or if you're actually missing... "

He used it a total of twice - once on the way to the hospital (taking his wife to the ER), and once after they hadn't heard from her for 24 hours... She was at a friends house. She came home later that day - quick word about letting parents know if you're going to be out more than 24 hours (16 yo daughter) and matter dropped.

It's a nice "better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it" tool.

We use "find my iPhone" on my son's phone to make sure he got on the bus, and to track the bus so we know when he should be home.

We grew up in a kinder and gentler time. Too many bad people are now allowed to roam freely.

I read several years ago, that abductions, lost children, etc has stayed relatively the same per capita. Just that we get bombarded by it more than back then.

Whatever works for you. Now, if there is a special needs kid issue, that isn't unreasonable.

We grew up knowing trust=freedom. Not much was worth losing our freedom over. Being late to dinner was one way to screw yourself.
