Confused with 40 mm 45 mm etc of ordering a watch band. Just got one for christmas but want to change the band and confused. Small wrists. Where do I find in the watch instructions where to decipher the mm question?

The 44mm or 38mm or 45mm is a designation of the size of the watch, not the size of the wrist. I originally started with a 4 at 44mm (the larger one) and have since gone to the larger one in version 6, which is slightly bigger than the larger 4. Bands that fit my 4 will also fit the 6. What kind of band were you thinking of? The newest from Apple comes in different sizes for the wrist size as well. Apple bands are pricey, and the ones on Amazon can be quite a bit less and much more affordable. It will also help to know what version watch you got.

Look on the box the Watch came in and it will show the size of the Watch.

At the Apple site, there will be the option to choose the band width to fit your watch.

“For You” tab at the bottom, scroll down to “your devices”.
The watch should be there with info and a shopping link.

And you do not have to order from Apple...there are plenty of good ones at Bezosville, Fleabay or Etsy...all of which come from China anyways.
