Thanks! Worked.

25 of 52, but I got really tired of it by #28 and blew a few from fatigue.

14 of 52. Recognized another 5 or so from face and what they are known for but just couldn't remember the name, like Manchin and Xi.

16.

Most of the ones I didn't know I hadn't even heard of especially in the entertainment and sports categories.

That was the same for me... also, I would debate whether or not some of those people were really "notable".

I got 26, but I cheated by googling spellings and people I definitely knew but couldn't recall the names of (which was probably at least a half dozen of them). I imagine, I'll be doing that more and more in the next couple of decades

Hopefully Jeremy O. Harris doesn't take it too hard that he was only recognized by 2% of respondents.

I only knew BTS from some stupid pop music quiz that someone posted a while back. Never heard of them before that, but they had about 6 of the most popular songs of all time according to whatever bizarre benchmark was being used.

If it weren't for a story I saw last week on K-pop in America that also covered a chunk of the MTV Music awards I would have missed several more of them. Still confused one of the artists, mistook her for Ariana Grande.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

27. I got most of the sports and non-NY politicians. BTS was on Colbert and Corden (it was Rain before them). I missed Eilish because I hadn't seen a pic with her hair off of her face. Very few of the actors/celebs since I don't read NYT for that stuff.

Wow. A LOT of clinching of sphincters and clutching of pearls in the comment section for the quiz. Actors? Singers?? Internet…”people”??? big grin smiley

Easily recognized and knew I'd be able to figure out their names if I spent more than a couple of seconds: 17.

Named as I saw them: 12.

Twenty five, using the same technique (Oh, that’s the head of the CDC, and her name is….google, google).

I got too many politicians right, and too few entertainers correct (and even then, I had to guess Billie Eilish twice to get one right…)

I got 26, but I cheated...

I got 49, but I cheated... by dragging the images of the ones I didn't know to my desktop. They were all named for the person they pictured! I actually knew 27 of them, and the 3 I got wrong I thought I knew, thought the one guy was Terry McCauliffe the former VA gov (it was his replacement Youngkin); it didn't accept PM Xi for the Chinese leader, or Jow Rogan; and I didn't recognize Navalny (had a hunch he was "some Russian guy" but couldn't place him) or Sen. Sinema.

Several other correct guesses I had to use google to call to mind, e.g. "the actor who plays Shang Chi" and "actor who plays dune" cuz I wouldn't have known their names or wanted confirmation I had the correct person in mind.

[/spoiler]

Not only spelling, they accepted the name of the character played instead of the actor playing the character for one of the answers.
