Amateur eBayer needs a helping hand

The amateur would be me. I've bought and sold only a couple of dozen times on eBay - none recently.

I'm ready to list an iPad Pro and Pencil. Do I want to accept returns or no?

The last time I said yes, the item came back with a missing part. TIA

Are you trying to get the maximum possible $$, or just want to sell it?

Give FB marketplace a spin?

I've stopped accepting returns. Too much of a pain in the ass.

Did you check what Apple is offering you for your old Apple items?

It doesn’t matter if you “accept” returns or not. If the buyer asserts “doesn’t match description”, you’re getting it back and eBay is taking the money back as well. But yeah, list it here first.

This. I don't accept returns, but I just accepted a return from someone who was honest that he didn't fully read the description. I could have denied it, but then I risk him changing his tune and claiming it was "not as described." If he does that, then I have to pay shipping, or I have to get in a fight with eBay over who is right. I decided to just accept the return and start over.

Yup, that's what you have to do. I got into an "argument" with eBay because my buyer was trying to use the item in a way that wasn't supported by the manufacturer and that I said in my listing wouldn't work. But despite all that, because it "didn't work" for the buyer, eBay forced the return.

Thanks for your tips.

• I don't do Facebook so Marketplace is eliminated.
• Apple offered me $275, quite a bit lower than what I see on eBay (and Swappa).
• I will try listing on the For Sale & Free Items forum.
Swappa looks interesting and will look into it. I will most likely list it there if there's no response on the forum.

Thanks again!

I stopped accepting returns for the same reason. Lots of unethical buyers out there and eBay does little to protect sellers (who pay all the fees).
