When did Safari become so un-user-friendly?? I have six extensions that I like to run in Safari and every one of them requires me to reboot the computer in safe mode in order to turn them on. WTF?? They all come from the App Store, don't they vet the apps before they allow them in?

That's not the way that it works in my experience.

Safari extensions work through apps in the Applications folder. You download the app that contains the extension, and you immediately have the extension in Safari. It just works.

System extensions may require rebooting the Mac into Recovery to disable SIP.

I don't have to reboot into safe mode to activate or deactivate extensions. Not sure what's causing your problem.

FYI - the Honey extension is a cpu hog on my M1 MBA.
