Hall of fame for Bonds and Clemens?

I say yes. IMHO, they were simply the whipping boys for what everybody in baseball was doing at the time.

They broke the rules and got caught - no HOF for you!

They actually enhanced their bodies - they cheated. Pete Rose's crime didn't even involve cheating and he's Mr. Nobody to MLB now. He holds one of the most iconic records in the game, but he's out. BOnds holds THE most iconic record in the game, but no one knows how many he would have had if had not cheated. imo, Hank Arron is still the lifetime leader for home runs in a career.

If you wanna allow some rule breaking players in, but not others - I say no. If you want to remove ALL barriers to entry, I'll listen... but I voted no.

I am torn by this question.

Many in the Hall were not angels - how many cheated, but weren't caught?

There were "performance enhancements" that many used - uppers in the 1960s, for instance, used to be available in a bowl in the clubhouse, until they became illegal...

Bonds "literally" broke no rules. But keep thinking that if it makes y'all feel better. People need to stop bringing this up because i'm gonna keep calling it out.

He deserves to be in it for the entirety of his career. So does Clemens. Neither was ever charged with using or possessing PEDs. We can't let baseball purists win.

I vote yes. They played the game in the era they played.

And yes on Joe Jackson and Pete Rose.

Its a baseball HOF, not a nice person HOF.

I don’t know what you are reading, but the effect of steroids on Bonds is used in medical school.

None of the PEDS-era users should get in.

And some should be reconsidered like Kirby. If he hasn’t literally died from steroid use complications, he’d all be in question.

So - no.

The HoF is to honor what we want in future players.

The issue is their records are fake. It’s not a question whether they used PEDs but whether they were caught by testing. The latter was a failure of management.

But whether they were PEDs users is not in question.

All true. But there are some amazing numbers about Ruth. Wash U measures baseball player response times. Ruth held the fastest response time until recently when Pujols broke it in his prime.

Ruth was a phenomenal athlete regardless of era.
