Is (vintage) 48" Vizio Plasma TV worth saving?

Neighbors are moving, and tossing pretty much everything....

On the chopping block is an older Vizio plasma TV. Is there any reason/useful purpose for such a beast? Or IOW to rescue it before the next rain comes and renders it totally worthless? There's also a 23" Dell mid-level (c.2013) monitor up for grabs that I guess we should take, and donate to the local elementary school. But what to what the beastie plasma (if anything) ?
Thanks for any ideas.

We love our Vizio 50” plasma. Great color.

The picture is probably great, but they do run hot!

When I moved from our old pioneer plasma to an old lead screen I was shocked at the quality difference. I do not think going back to plasma would be worthwhile. With the low cost of TVs today I would skip the plasma.

Ukulele music I couldn't find anywhere else.
I’ve added some recipes and spiritual thoughts as well.

Took my nearly 15-year-old 42" Panasonic plasma up to the cabin since the even older tube TV up there is dying.

Hopefully won't be stolen...that sucker feels like it weighs 70 lbs.

Same here. Colors are great, blacks are deep, still very enjoyable.

Another vote for saving it. I wish I lived in your town, I could use it as I have only one large flat screen and I'd like another for my basement workout room. Just have an old JVC tube 36" that must weigh about 110 lbs, maybe more!

My 42" Panasonic plaz is also still going strong after ~15 years as well!

Maybe just save it and post an ad for it on local CL "free to a good home"? I bet you will easily find takers. 'Twould be a shame to see it ruined/headed to a landfill when it still works fine.
