Have this Viper Remote, that started to act up. Saw a video on how to open it, and see that they remove two CR2016 that are stacked on tope of each other, (Obviously)

So diameter of the 16 and 32 are the same.

Thickness of 16 is 1/2 of 32. So a 32 will fit fine.

Is there any problem with using a CR2032 in place of the 2 CR2016's?

If the 16 is 1.6 Volt, which I am not sure, then stacking them would equal 3.2 volts.

And if one CR2032 would fit, seems like a no brainer.

Yes, they are stacked, and I thought before taking apart that because it was going to be labeled CR2016 that it was 1.6 vols. But the two I took out say 3V.

So yes that would be stacked at 6 Volt.. for this Viper Remote

They are both the same voltage, 3V. The CR2032 is higher capacity.

In your device where the CR2016's are stacked, you are getting 6V from the stack. If you use a CR2032 in place of the stack, the device may not work due to undervoltage.

what flareslow stated.
Both 3v Lithium cells but the 2032 has more amps.
I've never seen a 6v "button cell".

All of the CR20XX batteries are three volts, the thickness relates to the different energy storage capacities of the batteries, a CR2032 will last longer than a CR2016.

By stacking, the effective voltage to the Viper is 6 volts, so one CR2032 will not work in place of the two CR2016's.

Fun fact - Apple AirTags use CR2032 batteries.

OK, went to Harbor Freight and bought their 4 pack of CR2016, and replace the double stack of 2 batteries, and all is fine. Works great. If battery doesn't last long, will go to a more quality brand.

Also , then stopped at Costco, and they had the iPad 10.2" Space Grey in stock. They said they had just gotten them in. As can be seen, when I went to the window to pick it up, they had to have somebody get 3 cases out of the locked cabinet in the back by the truck delivery.

So I guess I can cancel that order to Apple, for the same thing only $10 cheaper (Teacher), that won't be here till after Jan 27.

Nice... Now to figure out which of these two boxes is the Apple Gen 1 pencil

The higher voltage may give it the ability to function.

I'm not sure it would work at all at half voltage, or a least reliably.

But if it did/could, using a 32 when there are no 16s handy might do in a pinch.
