My son's Macbook Air is filling up with video files that he's making for YouTube. I need to find something that works like Disk Inventory X to help clear up space on the drive. It looks like this app hasn't been updated in a while and it doesn't seem to work on OS 12+. It says it's good up to 10.15 on the website. Can anyone suggest a work around or an alternative?

If he is using iMovie, Check the iMovie Library. It keeps the source files there.

Thanks! That's a good start. Not as nice as DiskInventory X but it's better than nothing. It shows something like 130gb for 'system data'. That seems excessive to me.

what year MBA? It's pretty easy to put a larger SSD in the pre-touchbar ones (maybe 2017 to 2013)? 2015 is the sweet spot.

130gb is common if working with video. It may be a cache, and will be deleted when space is needed.
I would restart at the most, and (hopefully) won’t be a problem.
I believe the pro convention dictates working with video on so-called scratch disks, not on the system drive.
