As everyone else here, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. It must have been a terrible shock and as the reality sets in the days can become dreary. Close friends and family will be so helpful. I hope that your thoughts are mainly filled with wonderful memories, which cannot be taken away.

I just saw this today, missed it yesterday.

I'm so sorry to read this. As you said, probably the best way to pass, but so suddenly leaves everyone in shock, with no time to process it or prepare.

I lost my dad in August 2021, somewhat unexpectedly. His health had declined, and he was falling regularly. My mom was unable to pick him up, so she had to call 911 every time.

His mental faculties were waning as well. He had diabetes and other health issues (kidney failure, which I didn't know about until toward the end). He was in a rehab when he passed. They said a nurse was with him, I hope that's true.

We were supposed to visit him the day after he passed, but COVID restrictions had cancelled that. We hardly got to see him for the last month or so of his life. It still makes me sad. Mom barely got to see him in there.

I'm only sharing as the 56 year old son of an 84 year old man. I knew it was coming eventually, but it was sooner than we thought. Our hope was he would at least make it through the holidays.

Mom is 82 and living alone, we talk almost every day. She has lost some of her friends recently, too. She'll move into senior living this year, I expect. We'll clear out my childhood home and put it up for sale.

My hope is you have good support of friends and family. Feel free to share here (as you did) and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything from your internet Mac pals. We're an odd but good bunch (I think).
