I really love how happily nerdy he is. When my current can opener wears out, I might have to get a new one.

I have that exact opener he's demoing.

The reason it hasn't largely hasn't supplanted other openers, is that it can't open all cans, like the other openers can.

So I have one of the type that he first showed because my main opener can't open a couple cans.

But it bats about .900.

Switched to the "safety" version 10+ years ago. Zulay, best $10 I've spent.
still $10 @ bezosville

No real choice when you need a one-handed can opener.

The Chef'n EZ Squeeze lasts about five years for $12

He's got a couple of interesting videos on heat pumps. The second one answered my question about why my heat pump seems much more comfortable in the winter now than in the past-a new thermostat did that.

I have used one like the Kuhn Rikon Safety opener since about 1998. It needs replacement because it won't reliably remove the lid since current cans use thinner metal.

Why doesn't someone make a "smooth edge" opener with a crank like the Swing-A-Way (my parents had one like this, very fast to open most cans)...

I prefer my hand held EZ-DUZ-IT. It's like a Swing-A-Way, only made better and in the U.S.

It never fails. The newer "safety" ones, in my experience, sometimes do.
