Overnight temps near zero and today's high of 11, and wind chill advisories below zero,
nothing but comfort food and staying home today.

Breakfast... bacon, eggs, toast

Lunch... grilled cheese and cheeseburger soup.

Dinner...Pot Roast and veggies

Pat's game tonight...hot buttered popcorn

Throughout the day...100% Kona Hawaiian Coffee

This boy's not leaving the house.

Making some Thai chili chicken, not exactly an old family recipe (although my good friend from Thailand would approve).

Did make banana pancakes for breakfast.

Cheeseburger soup?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I can use all the comfort food I can get today.
We may have an ice/snow/freezing rain event tomorrow.

40’s in my part of upstate SC. We’re expecting 3-6” of snow overnight, though, which could paralyze us for days. We’re really not equipped for snow here.

Cheeseburger soup?

Hamburg, onion, potato, carrots, garlic and whatever you want mixed with Velveeta and milk.
I think of it as a chowder, hold clams, add hamburg and melty Velveeta, Just as it's almost done I stir
in a 'dollop' of sour cream.
Although creamy, it's texture is closer to a soup than a chowder.

We're at 14º at this very minute and that's about the high for the day. I'm not going out.

The dinner menu consists of homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and french bread from the deli to top it off.

Yes our region is in for it, starting late tonight.
Stay safe and warm, I'm praying the power stays on.

Wish I could get a hot casserole, fresh baked bread and banana pudding to you. Sending virtual hugs.

I had homemade home fries and over easy eggs this morning. I parboiled the red potatoes last night, and I also made some caramelized onions for the home fries. Lots of caramelized onions. I put the nice juicy over easy eggs on top of the spuds so they could spill their glorious egg yolks all over them...

Waffles for breakfast, scalloped potatoes/ham for lunch, but will have salad for dinner--too many calories already!

My next door neighbor brought me a big bowl of homemade tomato soup, nice and chunky, and a loaf of sourdough bread. It was yummy and I have more in the fridge.
I would be all over that banana pudding. It was Frank’s favorite dessert. sad smiley

So sad, but I am so glad that you are getting some comfort and your humor is shining through.
