That was a loss when they ceased publication 10 years ago.

Scholastic has news magazines for kids, can't say anything about the quality.

Dennis,

They exist but they are geared for teachers to give to an entire class of students. Weekly Reader was owned by Scholastic and absorbed into its other magazine products. I've no doubt there are competitors that publish products as normal subscriptions and gear it to parents to provide to their children. Definitely monthly magazines like Ranger Rick and Ranger Rick Jr.. Less sure if they have weekly magazines.

Here are some examples:

No experience with any of the above. Just pointing out that they exist. smiling smiley

…or Highlights?

That’s what my grandchildren have, and my daughter is kind of a tiger mom about researching the best for her kids.

When I was a child, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, there used to be Humpty Dumpty magazine for kids and then when you got a little older you could get Children's Digest. They were the size of the Reader's Digest. I loved getting a magazine in the mail, it seemed so grownup, and since I loved to read it was something I looked forward to very much.
