Starting out doesn't need to be a big step, just take that step.

Just dive right in!

OK, back on the fitness train. Got in about 8 miles of walking and 3 upper body lifting workouts. Sugar and carb intake still too high. I wonder of the cold weather is tempting me to eat more carbs.

Ouch!!! Going to need a dentist and wallboard repair.

I shoveled 2/3 of my mostly uphill 300+ foot driveway. We got 12 inches of snow yesterday. Will finish the rest tomorrow. Did I say I am sore?

Slept in this morning since the roads weren't plowed yet.

Managed to get to the gym this afternoon, though.

Getting back into my MWF gym routine now that the fattening holidays are over.

Trainer gave me a new routine last Friday. The one exercise that is going to be the most trouble is is a knee bend, one leg at a time. My left knee really does not want to do much bending all by itself.

What is going to take work, is accepting that a very small bend is acceptable. Pride really wants me to do more and I have to "listen to my body" to accept what I can do and what I should not do.

Shingles vaccine whacked me for about 2 days so I only averaged 3mi/day last week. However was less hungry so I'm sure it all evened out. No need to consult the scale...

I’m definitely impressed!

10.2 miles of walking. Much less than the 17 that was my goal but the weather just didn’t cooperate.

Cold is your friend. You burn more calories since your furnace runs hotter.

Unfortunately my furnace want garbage thrown in for fuel.

Good job everyone. Keep at it.

I’m a very firm believer that elevation is more of a friend than cold. I can minimize my heat output by dressing warmly. I cannot (readily) compensate for the difference in elevation between 1000 feet and 7500 feet. In addition, my body may shiver and generate heat for rather brief periods while my respiratory and cardiac systems have to work harder 24/7 at elevation.
