I've been told I'm a disconnect thinker.. what's that you say?
Let me give you two examples that just occurred this afternoon.

The first took place while I was sitting in an exam room waiting for my pulmonologist (annual Apnea checkup, he said to come back next year, here's your bill). As I was waiting, I was reading a kindle book on the History of the Dakota Apartment Building (the one where John Lennon was murdered). Quite an interesting history behind the building, but I digress. The chapter I was reading dealt with the difference between the upper-class East Side (Park Avenue) and the more culturally oriented West Side where the Dakota exists. Immediately upon reading that I stopped and began to expound upon the social aspects behind the lyrics of The Jefferson's theme song (Well we're movin' on up, To the east side, To a deluxe apartment in the sky). The connection isn't immediately obvious.

The second took place a few minutes ago while reading Steve G's thread on the sale of the Staten Island Ferry named after John Kennedy. My brain connected The ferry to the Staten Island Ferry Disaster that was purported to have occurred the same day Kennedy was assassinated, which then connected to two other notables who died the same day (Aldous Huxley and CS Lewis). I'm one of those sad folks who know all the answers to the oddball Jeopardy categories. I can't answer the Shakespear clues but can expound on the relationship of 16th Century actors to modern day Porn Actors..

And that is why my wife slapped the back of my head. I can't really blame her. If you would like for her to slap my head for you, just ask*

Pure coincidence... I have not been to NYC since June 1980, when a teacher unknowingly booked a high school trip to the hotel in Times Square. I understand that area is less "adult" oriented now.

I can see how the wife was threatened while your mom was still alive; fear of her MIL's retribution for usurping head-whacking duties, and all that.
